A powerlifting event was held at Cornerstone College in Silverton on Saturday.

The event was organised by Rhino powerlifting club.

Founder Rudolf Kuhn said the powerlifting experience was aimed at raising money for charity.

“This was in aid of Ikaya Nothando house of safety for infants in Pretoria,” said Kuhn.

A total of 65 men completed the incredible joint deadlift.

Powerlifter Louis Dunn beat a world powerlifting deadlift record in the 60-65 age group by lifting 235kg.

For those who were unable to attend the event, donations can still be made on the Ikaya Nothando money raising page.
