This came after his short-lived social media fame.

Morote, known as “Team Volt SA”, posted a video on social media depicting him talking ill about women.

Commenting on the story of a woman who was killed outside a night club in Sunnyside two weeks ago, Morote said he understood why the man did it.

“You people are blaming that guy but let me say this: that man found a girl, and went out with intentions of having fun,” said Morote.

“Now you (she) just wanted to drink his money and dodge him afterwards, no no no.”

Morote recently posted photos of himself holding a rifle and a stash of cash.

Mbalula said Morote was found to have 12 pending cases against him, including of murder, highjacking and robbery.

He is expected to appear again on 19 September.
