A 38-year-old man was drugged and robbed by two women he met at a nightclub where he went to “buy food”.

Police spokesperson Constable Mandlakayise Zwane said the police were investigating a case of housebreaking and car theft in the Moot after a man reported that he was drugged by two women on Sunday.

“The complainant alleges that he visited a nightclub in town to buy food around 04:00 in the morning,” Zwane said.

“Upon arrival, patrons of the club were already leaving. Two unknown ladies introduced themselves as Nthabi and Lebo. They asked him to drop them off at their home.”

Zwane said the man agreed, but decided to pick up something at his home in Wonderboom first.

They then drove to a fast-food takeaway restaurant in Pretoria Central where he bought breakfast and coffee.

Realizing that his coffee was spiked, the man immediately drove the two women to a building on the corner of Madiba Street and Steve Biko Road where he passed out from the drugs.

“The complainant does not remember anything from that point until he woke up at his home that afternoon,” Zwane said.

A few items were missing from his home and his car, a Polo Vivo, was missing.

The vehicle was later recovered at Mamelodi via a Tracker investigation.

A case of housebreaking and motor vehicle theft was opened at the Wonderboompoort police station.

“The police would like to create awareness of people spiking other people’s drinks and robbing them of their belongings,” Zwane said.

“This modus operandi is bound to be on the increase, given that it is the beginning of the festive season.”

Anyone with information is requested to contact the police on 086-001-0111.
