The Moot residents should be on the lookout for a suspicious black Mercedes Benz sedan, said Kilnerpark Security spokesperson Ancelize van der Kooi.

The C-class Mercedes sedan in question was spotted leaving three different crime scenes.

“We had two robberies in less than 40 minutes last week Wednesday,” she said.

“A house in 33rd Avenue was broken into and several items were stolen. Suspects fled the scene in a black Mercedes. The registration number is not known.”

Less than an hour later, an unknown number of suspects broke into a house in 21st Avenue.

“Suspects were again seen fleeing the premises in the same Mercedes,” Van der Kooi said.

The sedan was also spotted at the scene of a robbery two days later.

“An unknown number of suspects detained the housekeeper and gardener at a house in Breyer Avenue near Darling Street,” Van der Kooi said.

Police were at the scene.

Van der Kooi said residents should phone their nearest police station should they spot the Mercedes in question.

Kilnerpark Security had many successes last week, Van der Kooi said.

“On Wednesday, one of our security guards asked for assistance when he saw a suspect climbing out of a vehicle and fleeing,” she said.

The vehicle, a white Toyota Fortuner, was left abandoned in Johan Hagar Street. It was later confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen.

Also, three robbery suspects were caught on Wednesday in a separate incident.

“They robbed a person in Hertzog Street, but got stuck in traffic in Nico Smit Street when they tried to flee in a cream-coloured Mazda 323,” she said.
