A 21-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly being in the possession of drugs in Eersterust.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo said the man was arrested recently after a tip-off.

“We received information that the suspect was selling dagga from his parents’ house at Delphinium Avenue. The police immediately proceeded to the said address.
“Upon arrival, they [police] asked permission to search the house and it was granted,” he said.
During the search, the police found 740g of dagga stashed in bags in and around the house.
Shibambo said the man was immediately placed under arrest for being in the possession of dagga and was detained at the police station.
Eersterust police station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Maesela John Kgoetego thanked the community for blowing the whistle on crime and exposing drug dealers.

He thanked the team for a job well done.
“Assist the Gauteng police to fight fraud, corruption, unethical behaviour or any other suspicious activities that could be detrimental to our success,” Shibambo said.
