Eersterust police clamp down on drugs

The partnership between the Eersterust police and the community in the fight against drugs is bearing fruit.

Police spokesperson Sergeant Sam Shibambo said 12 men had been arrested at the weekend as a result of “a stream of positive tip-offs from residents about alleged drug activities in the area”.

“The Eersterust police management would like to thank residents for their continued support and efforts in trying to make the area a drug-free place,” he said.

Station commander Lieutenant-Colonel Maesela John Kgoetego also thanked the police for their swift response when called upon by the community.
