A man died after being shot multiple times at Rietondale park in the Moot on Saturday morning, paramedics said.
Best Care ambulance service spokesperson Xander Loubser said the man sustained multiple gun shot wounds and was declared dead on the scene.
Loubser said the case was handed over to the police for further investigation.
Eyewitness Jacques Aspeling said he saw two men flee the scene after the shooting.
“The two men approached the man and shot him several times before fleeing the scene.
“It didn’t seem they took anything,” Aspeling said.
Hi-Risk security operations manager Reg Crewe confirmed that nothing seemed to have been taken from the victim.
Crewe said the slain man may be a Nigerian national.
“It doesn’t appear as though anything was taken and the two suspects fled in a Volvo S60,” he said.
Police were not yet available for comment.
