Pretoria Moot police have released an identikit of a man suspected of stealing a sports bag from children practicing softball at the Rietondale sports club.
The theft happened last month, according to police spokesperson Captain Anton Breedt.
“There were children practising softball at the Rietondale sports club,” he said.
“The man was seen walking around the sports grounds, talking to the children and asking questions about the game.”

Breedt said when the practice session finished, one of the children discovered their bag was stolen.
He said this specific man had been spotted at the sports ground on other occasions in the past.
“A security guard tried to chase him away, but the situation was complicated because the area is a public area where anyone can be,” he said.
He said the man was wearing a grey and black tracksuit at the time.
The man had brown eyes and had a slender built.
The Pretoria Moot police were also still searching for a couple wanted for theft.
Breedt said, the two – a man in his late 40s and woman in her late 30s – entered a business in the area and asked to speak to the owner or manager.
“The woman then asked to use the bathroom and, as she left, the man asked for a glass of water,” he said.
“While the manager went to get water, the two suspects disappeared without a trace.”
When the manager returned to reception, he discovered that his laptop and cellphone were missing.
The man and woman allegedly fled the scene in a silver Ford Figo.
Breedt asked for the assistance of residents to track down the suspects.
“The detectives from our precinct are asking for residents’ help in tracking them down,” he said.
